The Last Lecture
April 5: TMU Student Life & Campus Engagement is hosting the eighth annual Last Lecture, based on Randy Pausch’s last lecture at Carnegie Mellon University in 2007, which challenges speakers to answer one question: “If this were your last time to address a group of students, what would you say to them?” Hear how TMU student and alumni panelists answer the question. This event is open to the entire TMU community.
Laboratory of Feminist Memory: Reclaim The University Edition
April 6: The Studio for Media Activism & Critical Thought at TMU is hosting their 6th and final Laboratory of Feminist Memory at Glad Day Bookshop. This event will bring together activists, academics and artists to explore feminist archives and the futures of student activism.
Writers in Dialogue: author Nguyen Phan Que Mai in conversation with Hoa Nguyen
April 10: The award-winning Vietnamese poet and internationally bestselling novelist Nguyen Phan Que Mai is coming to Toronto and TMU will host her in JORG 1402. Joining to discuss her latest novel, Dust Child, Que Mai will read from the book, talk about her research and writing process with the award-winning poet Hoa Nguyen and perform her poetry in Vietnamese and English.
International Day of Pink
April 12: This annual international day brings community together in solidarity against homophobic and transphobic bullying, and to celebrate equity, diversity and inclusion.The TMU community is invited to gather in the amphitheatre of the Student Learning Centre (SLC) at 12 p.m. for remarks to commemorate the day and a group photo.
2023 iBEST Symposium
April 14: This annual research conference is organized by the Institute for Biomedical Engineering, Science and Technology (external link) (iBEST), a partnership between TMU and St. Michael's Hospital, Unity Health Toronto, that combines TMU's engineering and science strengths with Unity Health's biomedical research and clinical expertise to translate research concepts into testable health-care solutions. This year's event features a keynote lecture, panel discussions, a trainee poster competition and more.

(external link) April 14-15: The much-anticipated annual showcase of graduating Fashion Design and Communication student work returns this year with a two-day event.
Generous Futures: Demanding Climate Justice
April 19: Valerie Pringle, TMU alum and broadcaster, will moderate this discussion exploring the ethics of philanthropy in light of the movement for climate justice.
Putin's War Against Journalists: One Year Later
April 19: One year after Russia launched its invasion, what have we learned from the war against Ukraine and against journalists? Join three Russian journalists who spoke at TMU’s Centre for Free Expression panel one year ago to see how they have refused to be silenced. How are Russia’s independent media fighting to expose the truth about the war? What are the challenges as the war heads into its second year?
CONTACT Festival Launch Party + Spring/Summer Exhibitions Opening Party
