Applications for Free Legal Assistance to Businesses

Does your business need legal assistance? Consider applying for free-of-charge legal services provided through Toronto Metropolitan University Law & Business Clinic.

If you own a small business or plan to start up a business and you are a TMU student / a Chang School learner / affiliated with TMU learning zone (e.g. DMZ, DFZ, Fashion, LIZ), you may be eligible for this service.

Limited spots are available. Successful applicants will receive support throughout the academic year (September 2022 to April 2023).

The services are provided free of charge by TMU Law & Business undergraduate students, who are supervised by qualified lawyers from various law firms. Services may include, for example, assistance with:

· choice of legal structure for business;
· incorporating the business and preparing minute book documents;
· drafting contracts with suppliers and clients (sales and service);
· drafting non-disclosure and non-compete agreements;
· employment law issues and consulting agreements;
· regulatory compliance;
· intellectual property issues, such as business name, trade-marks and copyright
