A throwback to our days in university
University President Mohamed Lachemi as a grad student at Sherbrooke University, working away in his office.
We’ve all been there. Final assignments, cramming for exams, spending countless hours studying. Many university academic leaders have been in the exact same spot as you, worrying about tomorrow’s test and leaning on their friends and families for support. Through these throwback photos, these same leaders want to remind you that you are resilient, capable and have what it takes to succeed. There is so much for you to look forward to post exam season.
As always, if you need support, check out a variety of services and resources at Ryerson, such as the Centre for Student Development and Counseling, ThriveRU, and Student Learning Support, to name a few.
Wishing all students good luck on their exams and final assessments, as well as a restful and safe summer! And don’t forget, a wise man named Ferris Bueller once said, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around every once in a while, you could miss it.”

Chief Librarian Carol Shepstone had a collection of cassette tapes in addition to books back in the day.
Donna E. Young, Founding Dean, Lincoln Alexander School of Law, reminds us what graduation photos were like in 1987!
Jen McMillen, vice-provost, students, who now rocks a short pixie cut, let her hair down in her university days.
Charles Falzon, dean, The Creative School, and a colleague on the first RTA trip to New York back in 1979.
Dean of TRSM Daphne Taras shows us that flexibility is key!
