The university campus in the summer.”

A search committee for the vice-provost, academic position will begin the search for the new VPA now that Kelly MacKay will finish her term on June 30, 2022.

Kelly MacKay will be completing her term as vice-provost, academic on June 30, 2022. Appointed in December 2018, Kelly has been instrumental in providing collegial pathways to academic excellence to the Ryerson University community, particularly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Her oversight into offering alternative modes of course and exam delivery to students, as well as supporting faculty members and contract lecturers with the most up-to-date resources for remote teaching and assessment, have helped to steer the university through this unpredictable time. I am grateful for her steadfast leadership.

In keeping with the university’s policy for the Appointment of Academic Administrators (AAA Policy), I am writing to announce the establishment of a search committee for vice-provost, academic.

The establishment of the search committee will adhere to Ryerson’s policies and procedures, and will reflect best practices in respect of, but not limited to equity, diversity and inclusion, harassment prevention and access.

The Senate Office will email information regarding important dates and a link to the nomination form directly to members of the respective academic units who are eligible to nominate and vote for committee members.

I look forward to sharing the composition of the search committee with the community in the coming weeks.

Jennifer Simpson
Provost and Vice-President, Academic
