The iBEST Visiting Lecturer Series is honoured to host Dr. Naimul Khan, an associate professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Toronto Metropolitan University and director of the TMU Multimedia Research Laboratory.
In his lecture “Towards Virtual Reality-based Therapy and Training using Machine Intelligence," Dr. Khan will explore the transformative effects of VR headsets in therapy, creating safe, lifelike environments for clients to practice coping skills independently and reducing clinic wait times. His discussion will also highlight the use of real-time wearable sensors and AI to personalize support based on stress levels, benefiting autistic children, refugee youth, and first responders.
