Disability Affirming Practice through Equity and DisCrit Theory
Join us for a free hybrid speaker event. Refreshments will be provided!
This talk will examine how society perceives and responds to disability, particularly in childhood, using insights from disability studies, critical race theory, and social justice perspectives. We’ll explore the experiences of disabled children within institutions and service systems, highlighting implications for psychology practice, including how psychologists can better support equity and inclusion. Students, staff, and faculty are welcome. Followed by Q&A with Dr. Underwood.
