Wei Liu

Wei graduated with distinction from Toronto Metropolitan University, holding a degree in Computer Science from the Co-op program.

She worked as a Research Assistant in the Laboratory for Translational Medicine from December 2022 to August 2023. She specialized in deep-learning-based object detection algorithms, encompassing YOLOv5, YOLOv7, YOLOv8, YOLOnas, and DETR. She made substantial contributions to projects focused on training Worm Detection models utilizing various YOLO algorithms. Additionally, during a 16-month internship at Bruce Power, she gained extensive expertise in Data Analysis. Applying concepts from my academic background, she utilized Machine Learning algorithms, including Time Series, Regression, and Statistical Inference, to analyze data generated by business operations.

These experiences have not only sharpened her technical and soft skills but have also provided invaluable exposure to cutting-edge research in computer vision, deep learning, machine learning algorithms, and Data Analysis within a business environment. She is deeply passionate about leveraging these skills to push the boundaries of Computer Science and contribute to advancements in the field.
