Event objectives:

  • To explore the lived experiences of displaced Ukrainian women in Canada through the lens of metaphor, shedding light on the emotional, cultural, and social dimensions of homestay arrangements
  • To discuss the implications of displacement on refugee health, well-being, and integration, with a focus on how metaphors can inform policy, practice and future research
  • To engage participants in critical reflection on the power dynamics, cultural adaptation, and resilience of refugee women through multimedia storytelling and visual metaphors
