Being in the hospital can be stressful for children and families. It can also be stressful for a family’s other children to have their sibling in the hospital.
Child life specialists can ease the stress and anxiety, and help children and families cope. They do this by playing and engaging in learning activities to help children understand their illness and treatment as well as offer support and encouragement.
Join our chat if you would like to learn more about a career as a child life specialist, and why play is important to help children and teens understand what is happening to them or their family members, prepare for surgery, medical tests, and more.
