Finding time for connection, rest and reflection
As a dynamic and engaged university community, the obligations, expectations and goals of the academic year keep all of us very busy. Whether you are a student, faculty or staff member – I know just how focussed all of you are, bringing your best to your education or your work, and supporting one another.
Our mid-year break affords all of us the opportunity to slow down. This year, I am encouraging all of you to truly take a break – to spend time with family and loved ones doing what brings you joy, and finding time for rest.
I also hope we can all take this time to reflect – not only on the accomplishments of the past year but on how we can return to campus in the new year, with support, care and respect for one another at the front of our minds. We are a truly diverse and vibrant community – which is something to be proud of. I hope 2026 will bring us opportunities to recognize and celebrate what makes TMU the unique community it is.
TMU will close for the mid-year break, from Monday, December 22, 2025 to Friday, January 2, 2026. No matter how you choose to spend the break, I hope you find time to rest and take care of yourself.
I look forward to seeing all of you in 2026, and I thank you for all that you contribute to TMU and those around you.
From my family to yours, wishing you health and happiness for 2026.
Happy Holidays,
Mohamed Lachemi,
President & Vice-Chancellor, TMU
