Several team members presented at the first International Child and Family Conference  (external link) in Bristol from June 17–19, 2025. The conference, coordinated by Afua Twum-Danso Imoh, gathered more than 200 specialists from 28 countries to explore pressing issues related to children’s rights, protection, and participation. The event emphasized interdisciplinary collaboration and global perspectives, creating a platform for innovative research and policy dialogue.

Michelle Andrina, Emilia Gonzalez, Abdul-Rahim Mohammed, and Mónica Ruiz-Casares organized and presented findings from the Who Minds the Children? project in the panel Child Supervision in Low- and Middle-Income Countries: An International Collaboration to Enhance Research & Inform Action. Afua Twum-Danso Imoh convened, among others, a panel discussion on critical children’s rights involving several of the editors and contributors to the new open access book Critical Children’s Rights Studies: A Research Companion (external link)  (Routledge). Geneviève Grégoire-Labrecque shared some of her doctoral work on students’ environmental mobilization in schools. Mónica Ruiz-Casares also convened a panel with other members of the International and Canadian Child Rights Partnership (ICCRP). Participation was possible with funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
