Teaching Philosophy
I look to guide a creatively focused, inclusive classroom that challenges students to critically think about how course content can be expanded upon and how it relates to their other courses, professional aspirations, and the complex relationships between technology and society. From an inquiry-based learning teaching model, I present a problem, provide a framework and several tools for solving it, and help guide students to the answers that help them better understand their design decisions and processes, contemplate and internalize lecture material, and encourage active participation through class discussion and interactive exercises. Ultimately, I strive to teach self-advocacy, self-reflection, and self-learning.
