Seminar on Migration in China, June 13, 2007

A seminar on �Migrants� Social Network Used in Seeking Employment in Urban Areas of China� was held June 13 at Ted Rogers School of Management. The seminar was delivered by Professor Zhang Jijiao, a visiting researcher from the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

The seminar is jointly sponsored by the International Research Institute and the Diversity Institute in Management and Technology at Ted Rogers School of Management. Over a dozen scholars from different departments of Ryerson University including the Chang school of Continuing Education and the Joint Centre of Excellence for Research on Immigration and Settlement took part in the seminar and had heated discussions on migration issues in China and similar challenges in Canada, such as immigrant adaptation and social policies.

Professor Zhang also gave a brief introduction on ethnic & migration research in China and on the International Congress of Anthropological & Ethnic Studies to be held in China in 2008.


Book Launch, March 30, 2007
