Dr. C. (Ravi) Ravindran is a Professor of Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Processes in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Ryerson University. He is an Adjunct Professor at the Universities of Toronto and Quebec with active research involvement. He received a B.Sc. in Physical Sciences from the University of Madras, a B.Eng from the Indian Institute of Science and an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from the University of Manitoba.
From 1973 through 1976, Dr. Ravindran was Product and Process Development Metallurgist with Manitoba Steel Rolling Mills. In recognition of phenomenal R&D accomplishments in steel-making and continuous casting, he was promoted to Chief Engineer with additional responsibilities to include metallurgical process and product development. In 1982, he assumed the position of Chief Metallurgist. He was invited in 1985 to the position of Group Vice President of Galtaco Automotive Castings and Stampings Corporation Inc.
