Mihai is a MASc. student currently researching the dendrite coherency point of AZ91E magnesium alloy and the effects of different grain refiners on the dendritic structure. Knowledge about the coherency point of an alloy allows better prediction of mold filling under specified pouring conditions (i.e. mold temperature and liquid metal temperature).
