“The goal is to integrate social innovation and social entrepreneurship in a students’ degree. Zone learning adds to the rich array of opportunities that are the hallmark of a Toronto Metropolitan education. We have a long tradition as leaders in experiential learning, and this is another way to do that.”

Marcia Moshe, Vice Provost Academic - Toronto Metropolitan University, formely Toronto Metropolitan University

Faculty subject matter experts are a key part of the zone learning experience. Whether your expertise is in the humanities and social sciences, community services or business and entrepreneurship, consider joining our growing roster of subject matter experts who are sharing their knowledge with our innovators.  Want to join our roster?  Just send us an e-mail socialventures@torontomu.ca outlining your areas of expertise you can offer to our innovators and we’re happy to chat!

There are many other ways for faculty members in the Faculty of Arts and across the Toronto Met academic community to become involved. If you are interested in extending your reach into new communities, promoting social entrepreneurship, supporting incredible student initiatives and increasing your research’s positive impact, consider one of the following opportunities:

Share your expertise

The Social Ventures Zone offers unique knowledge and skill-building opportunities where faculty can develop workshops, present case studies, or lead hands-on learning and discussions.

Serve on our Admissions Committee

Faculty make up the majority of our Admissions Committee, where three times per year they help evaluate online applications to the Social Ventures Zone and in person pitches.

Consider pitching a venture for the Zone

Our admissions process is open to all members of the Toronto Met community and the broader network of social activists across the city.  If you have a world-changing idea that meets our admissions Committee’s criteria for entry, consider submitting an application.
