Areas of Expertise: 

Creative Practice: Fiction (short fiction and novels); digital projects; variety of talks. Dr. Petrou works in a number of media platforms to tell stories with rich characters challenging conventional ideas around gender and representation. Her fiction is published internationally.

Upcoming: Stargazer, to be released June, 2022.

Accolades: Two-time 'Top 100 Books' author by the Globe and Mail, including 'Top 5 First Fiction'. Winner of the international Half the World Global Literati Award, awarded to a work that highlights the inner lives of women. Books have been on several notable lists, including CBC Books, The Toronto Star, and Refinery 29. Dean's Teaching Award Winner. Twice noted as 'Prof Who Makes a Mark'. Public speaking includes the 2017 Convocation Address Speaker for The Creative School and two TEDx talks.
