  • Prof. Michael Milona's research on hope was featured in the Wall Street Journal, external link, opens in new window.
  • The department is hosting a workshop on how to apply for MA and PhD programs in philosophy, which will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 12:00pm-1:30pm (Toronto time). The aim is to give participants a better sense of how the selection process works and thereby put them in a position to put together competitive applications.   • Ryerson's Graduate Student Philosophy Conference will take place online on March 6-7, 2021. Submissions are being accepted until December 20th, 2020. [Call for Papers, external link, opens in new window]

  • Congratulations to three of our MA students on winning major scholarships! Joel DaSilva has been awarded an Ontario Graduate Scholarship, and Shane Brennan and Derwin Cheng have been awarded Ryerson Graduate Scholarships.
  • The department is hosting a virtual workshop entitled "Is Graduate School in Philosophy Right for Me?" on Tuesday, June 2, 2:30pm-4:00pm. The department is also hosting a follow-up virtual workshop entitled "How to Apply to Graduate School" on Tuesday, June 9, 2:30pm-4:00pm. Both workshops are intended for senior undergraduate students who are considering MA or PhD progams in philosophy, and for MA students who are considering PhD programs in philosophy.
