Sadie Epstein-Fine

(They/Them)

Sadie Epstein-Fine (They/Them) is a storyteller who works to spotlight equity seeking voices, beginning with the communities they are a part of. As a theatre artist Sadie most frequently takes on the roles of Director, Playwright and Choreographer of multidisciplinary works. Directing credits include: Little Mis(s)gender (Queer AF Collective/U of T Bonham Centre Lab), Eraser (The Riser Project/Why Not Theatre, multiple Dora nominations), Eraser: A New Normal (Theatre Direct), Mamma Mia! (Nightwood Theatre). Sadie is currently developing Sugar Plum about the experience of growing up as a queer ballet dancer and Other Daughter(s) about Tevye’s youngest (queer) daughter.

Outside of their theatre practice they do a lot of art and advocacy centering queer, trans and queerspawn (people with 2LGBTQ+ parents) voices. In 2018 they edited Spawning Generations: Rants and Reflection on Growing up with LGBTQ+ Parents, published by Demeter Press. Spawning Generations was nominated for multiple awards and was named one of the top 10 books of 2018 by NOW Magazine.
