Doc Now Film Festival , opens in new window

Doc Now 2022 is an interdisciplinary documentary festival featuring innovative work from the Ryerson University’s Master of Fine Arts in Documentary Media program. This multi- arts, multi-media festival showcases the film, photography, installation, and new media work of a diverse group of international storytellers.

Representing 9 schools, 15 programs, and over 5,500 students The Ryerson Communication and Design Society (RCDS) is a student-led society that represents all full-time undergraduate students within the Faculty of Communication and Design (FCAD) at Ryerson University in the heart of downtown Toronto. The RCDS was started for students, by students, with the goal of uniting all programs in FCAD. We provide collaborative programming and networking opportunities that allow students to forge new relationships, gain industry contacts and learn new skills that will last a lifetime.

Every year in early May, the 4th year Film students organize their own public film screening over a 2-day period. This popular event takes place at a theatre near campus. Advance tickets, including 3-day passes for the event are available at online and at the School beginning in April, right up to the day of the first screening.

Ryerson Art+Design Magazine (RADmag) was born out of a vision to create a collection of work that celebrates and showcases Photography, Fashion, and Interior Design projects by students. By providing an outlet to collaborate and inspire creativity in one another and the world at large, we hope to connect people across various disciplines and foster a community of inclusivity and conversation.

Converge is a public lecture series at the Ryerson University School of Image Arts, programmed and managed by fourth year Photography students. The series presents leading contemporary artists and academics working in photography, film and a variety of other media. CONVERGE is funded by Ryerson University through P-FACS, the Faculty of Communication and Design, and the School of Image Arts, as well as by the Ryerson Student Union. All the lectures are open to the public, accessible, and free!

Artspace is a fully accessible, student and faculty run gallery space located at our new location 401 Richmond in the heart of Toronto’s art and design district. For over twenty-five years we have been providing a unique and professional setting for Ryerson students, faculty, and alumni to experiment and showcase their work.

Maximum Exposure is an annual year-end exhibition, held in May, that showcases the work of the best young emerging Canadian and international artists attending Ryerson’s School of Image Arts. Featured as part of the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival, Maximum Exposure, now in its twenty-fourth year exhibits multidisciplinary work produced by photography, film, and integrated digital students in a professional gallery setting.
