MFA - Documentary Media, opens in new window

The Master of Fine Arts in Documentary Media brings together existing traditions of documentary practice with emerging approaches to create a unique multidisciplinary program. Innovative in structure and approach, the program is the first to offer an MFA degree in documentary media in Canada and is one of a very limited number of such programs offered worldwide. The Master of Fine Arts in Documentary Media is a full-time, two-year/six-term program that strives to maintain a connection to documentary traditions while encouraging innovative approaches to the making of new documentary works.

MA - Film and Photo Preservation and Collections Management, opens in new window

Fueled by the dramatic changes taking place in the world of both photography and film with the advent and growth of digital technology, our master of arts (MA) program in Film + Photography Preservation and Collections Management now offers specializations in both film and photo preservation. Our unique curriculum is developed and delivered by a range of specialists, from historians of photography and film to library and archival professionals. The two-year course of study will prepare graduates to meet the challenges faced by institutions and organizations that strive to manage, maintain and develop object- and digital-based collections.

“ComCult” offers MA and PhD degrees in three Areas of Study: Media and Culture, Politics and Policy, and Technology in Practice. Our program is uniquely situated within the Toronto media and arts scene, and offers an interdisciplinary faculty and research base spanning both campuses.
