Take Our Kids to Work Day

The first Wednesday of each November marks Take Our Kids to Work Day, a national initiative from The Students Commission of Canada (SCC), external link.

While the university isn’t hosting central events this year, below are some suggestions to ensure that employees and their grade nine students can still take part in this important national program.

Take a virtual tour of the TMU Campus

Toronto Met’s Admissions team has put together an interactive tour of campus. Show your student your favourite spots at TMU through a guided tour hosted by a TMU grad and current student!

Drop in with Student Recruitment

Students and their parents are invited to drop into the Student Recruitment office at their leisure, and connect with a student recruitment representative or tour guide to learn about the university, its programs, and the student experience, including undergraduate program information. Also available will be a resource to help you explore campus.

When: 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m., 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Where: POD 144.

Have your student tag along to a meeting

Of course, part of the fun of Take Our Kids to Work Day is providing your student  behind-the-scenes insight of what you do each day. Where appropriate, check in with your leader to confirm whether they are okay with your grade nine student attending a meeting.

Leaders are encouraged to be flexible with their employees to accommodate student attendees to meetings and work where possible.
