Additional Leaves

You may also be entitled to additional leaves under your collective agreement or the Employment Standards Act; some of which are unpaid by the university and may or may not be subject to employment insurance (EI) payments, depending on your individual circumstances. These leaves include:

  • bereavement/compassionate leave
  • legal/jury leave
  • political leave
  • special leave
  • chairs and directors administrator leave
  • sabbatical leave (leaves with pay for tenured faculty)
  • faculty exchange leave
  • critical illness leave
  • domestic or sexual violence leave
  • extended pregnancy leave
  • family medical leave
  • child death leave
