Vaccinations Information for New Employees
To protect the health and safety of community members on campus and to comply with the recommendations from public health authorities and the legislative requirements of the provincial government, Toronto Metropolitan University, like other post-secondary institutions in Ontario, has implemented a COVID-19 Vaccination policy. Effective May 1, 2022 enforcement of the vaccination policy is being suspended and proof of vaccination is no longer required prior to receiving an offer of employment.
As a condition of employment, Toronto Metropolitan University may require that employees obtain vaccinations against infectious diseases in the interests of occupational health and safety. In accordance with the emergency regulations issued by the Ontario government, new employees are required to submit their COVID-19 vaccination status prior to their first date of employment.
All community members are encouraged to keep COVID-19 vaccinations current, per public health guidelines
While COVID-19 vaccination is no longer required in order to access campus, community members are asked to keep their vaccination status in the TMU Safe app up to date.
Keeping track of the vaccination status of all of our community members will allow the university to shift back to requiring vaccination to attend campus quickly and easily, should it become necessary. Please note that your ability to continue to participate in academic, work and other activities at the university may be impacted if the requirement for mandatory vaccination against COVID-19 is reintroduced, based on the updated information you provide about your vaccination status.
