Navigating TMU

Get acquainted with the neighbourhood, the campus, the culture and the people.
Knowing where you're going and who you're working with can save you a lot of time!
The neighbourhood
Located in the hub of downtown Toronto, TMU’s campus blurs the boundaries between city and institution. At one of Canada’s busiest intersections, Yonge and Dundas, the university is easily accessed by public transit and is in close proximity to many landmarks, including the Eaton Centre, Massey Hall, the Mattamy Athletic Centre, Nathan Phillips Square and Toronto City Hall.
The campus
The Student Learning Centre serves as a gateway from Yonge Street to the university campus, and pedestrian-friendly Gould Street is a popular spot to enjoy the Farmers’ Markets, skate on Lake Devo, and celebrate milestones throughout the academic year.
This interactive campus map allows you to click on any campus building for a description of how that space is used, directions to get there, and even video tours! It also indicates parking, accessibility, security and information checkpoints on campus.
A tour of the campus is offered following the New Employee Orientation workshop. If you haven't already done so, visit the Learning Events Calendar to sign up for the next session.
Access TMU offers Access Tours upon request — accessible tours specifically looking at barrier-free routes of travel throughout interior and exterior spaces on campus.
The lingo
Navigating TMU is not all about maneuvering through the physical space—it’s also learning the many acronyms used in our daily language. This (PDF file) list of common abbreviations used at the university may help avoid some confusion. If you hear an acronym you don't know, just ask!
