Show us what you’re made of

Toronto Met is shaped by the city that surrounds us and defined by the steadfast determination of its community members to improve themselves and the lives of others. We are, as it were, made of grit.

You’re invited to show us how determination and drive play a role in your life – as a student, staff or faculty member, and alumnus of our school. There’s an array of prizes on offer and a chance to be featured in a video on our central social media channels.

How can you participate?

We’re inviting our community to post or submit videos that portray their sense of grit. This can take many forms, but here are a few starting points:

  • Tell us what grit means to you
  • Tell us about a TMU community member who inspires you
  • Show us a day in your life at TMU
  • Show us what you’re most passionate about at TMU right now
  • Tell us how TMU has “made you?”

What should my post look like?

There are no rules here. We want you to be creative and open to many different approaches. Some people might feel comfortable speaking to the camera, others might prefer to use a trend, still others will prefer to use camera clips and text-on-screen. We won’t tell you how to post, but we do have some examples for creative inspiration.

Where should I post?

There are two ways to enter: 1) you can post to your social media account (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter) and use the hashtag #TMUGrit or 2) you can use our submission portal on this page to upload a video directly.

Prizes

Winners will be selected from a random draw. The top three prizes will be Visa gift cards in the following denominations:

  • 1st $500
  • 2nd $300
  • 3rd $150

In addition to the main prizes, entrants will be entered into a draw to win one of 10 Made of Grit t-shirts.
