Rob Graham (he, him) was appointed to Ryerson's Board of Governors for a three year term as a Lieutenant Governor-in-Council appointee on February 14, 2020. He is currently serving on the Audit Committee, Finance Committee, and Negotiations Committee. Rob is an experienced board director; he has served on two university boards in Ontario. He has worked to ensure the financial integrity and good governance of organizations through numerous fiduciary-leadership roles including board chair and chairs of governance and quality assurance committees. His community involvement and not-for-profit board experience have been in the areas of homelessness, conservation and mental health.
Rob's professional specialties are in governance, financial planning and analysis, financial oversight, and real estate, as evidenced by experience and an MBA in finance, an ICD.D Board Governance designation with five additional certifications in governance and executive education. In the spirit of continuous learning, Rob is studying public leadership and public policy at Harvard University’s Kennedy School through which he is part of a global network of public policy practitioners and leaders. He has worked in the financial planning and budget approvals of multibillion-dollar operating and capital budgets in the airline industry, in mass transit and in Canada’s largest municipal government. He has written for the National Post newspaper on mass transit efficiency. He now works in the private sector in real estate investment.
