International Dao of Persons with Disabilities on December 3rd

Join Access TMU in collaboration with the Employees with Disabilities Community Network (EwDCN) and the Community Student Engagement Group for Accessibility (CSEGA), as we celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

This event will feature a preview of the short film ‘Across the University’ produced by Gemini Award winning filmmaker and scholar, Cyrus Sunder Singh on behalf of the EwDCN. This film features experiences of disability across campus, bringing together stories and vital information for employees with disabilities and their colleagues.

The film will be a valuable and lasting resource informing our understanding and approach to accessibility as a shared responsibility, which will benefit all members of our community.

Come hear from members of the EwDCN and the film’s producer about our process and our excitement about the transformative potential of this film.

In the second part of this event, participants will be invited to learn about the upcoming Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Education Standard, by engaging with the Access TMU community in discussions about the recommendations and planned university initiatives.
