Hosted by the Fashion Zone and Consulate General of India, the FZ x CGI fashion competition invited designers to design in celebration of India’s textile and manufacturing industry through an Indian textile-centered competition and fashion show. Based on creativity, ideation, and quality of designs, 10 designers were selected and instructed to design and sew an outfit made from Khadi fabric. The garments were then displayed and showcased at Holt Renfrew in Square One. A winner was then selected on the day of the fashion show and was awarded $5000, along with a year of incubation at the Fashion Zone valued at $3000.
The Fashion Zone and Consulate General of India have worked hard to organize the event. With careful consideration between the judges Lorenzo D'Andrea (General Manager, Holt Renfrew), Smt. Apoorva Srivastava (Consul General, Consulate), and Vicky Milner (Founder, Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards), the winning garment was selected.
