Rowan Shi

Acting Assistant Professor
DepartmentEconomics

Rowan Shi received her PhD from Princeton University in economics with a focus on international trade.

Her research focuses on how variation among producers within a single country interacts with international trade. For example, she studies how trade can affect producers differently according to their size and how these diverse effects in turn influence the overall impact of trade policy.

Before her graduate studies, Dr. Shi completed her bachelor's degree in mathematics and economics at the University of California, Berkeley, with a focus on pure math.

"I am excited to be joining the Department of Economics at Ryerson. Not only do the faculty members have interesting research projects, but they were also warm and welcoming during my visit. I look foward to being a part of and contributing to such a supportive environment with my own research, teaching, and community participation."
