Our Facilities

The Toronto Metropolitan University campus sits on a 21-acre site in the heart of downtown Toronto. The campus is a safe, modern, and attractive space. Most of its facilities are nestled to the north-east of the Yonge Street and Dundas Street East intersection.

Toronto Met Day Camp programs centre around two main facilities: the Recreation & Athletic Centre (RAC), located on the main campus, and the Mattamy Athletic Centre (MAC), located on the site of the former Maple Leaf Gardens on Carlton Street and just a five minute walk north of the RAC.

All Toronto Met Day Camp facilities meet and exceed the high standards of the Ontario Camps Association, as well as the standards of local Health and Fire Departments. TMU facilities are maintained in excellent condition, allowing campers to participate safely in programming of all sorts.

The Quad is a beautiful green space located at the centre of the Toroto Metropolitan University campus. The Quad is surrounded by mature trees, which make the space a quiet and safe location for camp activities. Throughout the typical day at Camp, the sound of children’s laughter often echoes off the walls of nearby Kerr Hall.

Located on the second level of Kerr Hall West, this gym plays host to campers playing any number of sports including basketball, volleyball, badminton, and indoor soccer. It’s also a popular space for camp-wide activities.

During the camp season, the Lower Gym is often used for indoor sports, like basketball, volleyball and soccer. The Lower Gym is located beneath the Gymnasium in Kerr Hall West.

The Mattamy Athletic Centre (formerly the Maple Leaf Gardens) opened its doors to the public in 1931, and for 68 years served as the home of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs. In September 2012, this historic facility reopened as the Mattamy Athletic Centre (MAC), offering a basketball court, fitness centre, and hockey rink where campers can skate under the same dome as NHL legends did for generations.

Home Court is a 12,000 square foot multi-purpose gym on the second floor of Mattamy Athletic Centre. It occupies the space that housed a private bowling alley in the former Maple Leaf Gardens, and is now the home of Toronto Met Day Camp basketball programs.

This NHL-sized rink is located in Mattamy Athletic Centre, at the site of the former Maple Leaf Gardens. Campers participating in our hockey camps skate under the same dome that Toronto Maple Leaf legends did for over 60 years. State-of-the-art dressing rooms serve Mattamy Home Ice.

The Recreation & Athletic Centre (RAC) is a fully equipped fitness centre, located north of Gould Street at the centre of the Toronto Metropolitan University campus. The RAC features two gymnasiums, an indoor pool, hardwood floor dance studios, a 160 yard banked indoor running track, international squash courts, and spacious male and female change rooms among other facilities.

The Recreation & Athletic Centre is home to two multi-purpose gymnasiums. Finished with hardwood flooring, these gyms are ideal for many of the indoor sports and activities that campers may participate in during their time at TMU.
