The Yellowhead Institute (external link) , an Indigenous-led research and education centre is based in the Faculty of Arts. The Institute privileges Indigenous philosophy and amplifies Indigenous voices that provide alternatives to settler colonialism in Canada today. Rooted in community networks, Yellowhead offers critical and accessible resources to support the reclamation of Indigenous land and life. Among numerous reports, the Yellowhead Institute published Red Papers Cash Back (external link) , on the value of Indigenous lands, and Land Back (external link) , about the project of land reclamation. The Yellowhead Institute has also produced numerous other valuable reports, such as Calls to Action Accountability: A 2021 Status Update on Reconciliation (external link) . These reports and others received extensive media attention and have been referenced in myriad policy discussions.
